My family is Pathan but I lived in Punjab so wasn't able to learn Pashto. I would also like to learn Persian as the proverb says it all 'If Arabic is the language of God, Persian is the language of the heavens'
Ski ll at Pashto is intermediate. Skill at Persian is nil.

Hi,
A friend and I are looking to take Urdu classes together. I am from a Pakistani background who's parent's speak Urdu fluently but never learned myself as my parents registered me in French Immersion since Junior Kindegarten through High School. I have always found a beauty in the language and feel that it will help me in connecting better with my heritage. Also I would love to pass on the language to my children some day.
My friend is looking to take Urdu lessons as many of her reffered clients are of Indian/Pakist ani background who speak Urdu/Hindi and feels like it would be a great asset to her career.
Our proficiency is at a beginner level, and would love to get to a proficient level of conversation and grammar.
With regards to time dedication, it would depend on a customized program whereby the instructor would decide how many classes are necessary to be able to formally converse in Urdu.
We are looking for our teacher to be polite, patient and bilingual in English and Urdu. We would also love a teacher who can develop a formal lesson plan from the basics to a more developed curriculum whereby we are able to exercise our teachings from classes through conversationa l activities.

I am very much a beginner in Cantonese. My wife and here family are Native Cantonese speakers and I would love to speak to them in there native language, other than being able to ask for food.
I have taken 1 beginner course but it did not help very much as I was the only one who did not have a background in it, and the course direction seem for someone who has an understanding .
I would like to have one lesson a week.

Hello,
My name is Holly and I am interested in learning Arabic (Middle Eastern). I am interested in learning Arabic because my boyfriend who I am in a serious relationship is Arabic and is fluent in Arabic (speaking, reading and writing). As well, most of his family lives in Kuwait and I am hoping to be able to communicate with them in Arabic when I meet them instead of only English.
I would be considered a Beginner, as I have no experience or knowledge of the Arabic language. I would like to take my lessons very seriously and start by dedicating two nights one hour each a week for the first month or two then go to one night, one hour a week. I am planning on practicing what I learn from my lessons each night. I mainly would like to focus on learning how to speak and pronounce the words correctly as well as some minor reading and writing.
I am looking for a teacher that is fluent in Arabic with lots of experience in Arabic verbal communication . I am looking for a teacher with adult teaching experience and lots of patients, as I have no knowledge of the Arabic language.
