I had studied Japanese in High School in one of those Saturday school programs; I learned hirigana, katakana, basic grammar and mostly verb conjugation. During that time I was accepted into a program with the Japan Foundation to visit Japan. As I would like to go back, I would like to re-learn the language and hopefully be able to speak it fluently.
The qualities I am looking for in a teacher is someone will allow me to tackle such a challenge but is also very easy to converse with (in any language), and who has flexible hours.

I am at an advanced beginner stage in terms of my proficiency. I am studying Arabic because it is a requirement for my doctorate degree. I have to be able to roughly translate a passage from Arabic into English by the end of the year. I would like to spend two hours/week on formal language lessons, and hope to spend an hour/day doing work on my own. I am looking for a teacher who is professional, experienced, and who will focus on grammar, the mechanics of the language, and increasing my vocabulary.
