My proficiency level would b a beginner
The reasons I am learning a foreign language are numerous. Firstly, I would love to learn a second language. Second, I have been to the philippines and loved the people, the culture and the country. I plan to visit a lot and therefore thought it would be wise to learn the language. Thirdly, a lot of my friends are of the filipino culture and it would be lovely to be able to converse with them.
I would really like to spend a couple hours a week learning tagalog.
I would like someone to teach me who is able to be patient and able to break the worklan down into simple steps and explain lessons and concepts fluently in english.

I am beginner, have never spoken the language. I am planning to do a field placement in Bangkok through my Masters programme with school at a large non-profit agency. I would like to learn basic, conversationa l Thai. I am not sure how much time I will need to have a basic foundation to get by. I am looking for a teacher that has some experience, is patient and qualitifed to teach languages. I am planning to leave in August and probably would like to start taking lessons in May or June.
