I am a beginner. I want to be able to speak, read and write fluently at least one of the languages of the country. I love chinese movies and I understand that the country has a very rich culture and very old history. My dream is to visit mainland china, hongkong and singapore.
The time I dedicate will depend on my availability. My work and home can sometimes be rather demanding. Nevertheless I am a very dedicated learner.
I am thinking that I may have a higher success rate if my lessons are private in person, but I am willing to discuss the alternative route, as my job can require travel and therefore, lessons may be more convienent and consistent if I were to learn on line.
Qual ities in a teacher - patience, experience, accessible.

I do not currently speak hindi (other than a few words). My wife is of Indian descent and I would like to learn so that I can speak to her and her family in their mother tongue. I am looking to take lessons once a week.
