Beginner. I attened a pakistani mosque, but I don't understand a word said in the program speeches or lectures. I am often around many pakistani people, but I always remain quiet and on my own because I can not communicate with anyone. I have many books, cds and websites but they only help me to understand a few words here and there. Also, I lived with a pakistani women for a few months who tried to help me but she didn't have enough time or patience. When someone is speaking urdu they may mention a few words I know but I don't pick up on them because they speak so fast. I love urdu, it is a beautiful, poetic language. I would also like to teack my children the language so that they do not suffer the same language barrier as I do.
