After spending 2.5 weeks in Thailand just last month, i have made plans to return next year to discover more of what the country has to offer. While touring around i really made honest attempts at using certain phrases from my Thai language book. Most times i butchered the words/ phrases, but the Thai people truly appreciate your attempts.
My Proficiency level would be Beginner. That being said gramatically and conversationl ly a level 1?
As my work schedule rotates from days, evenings and nights, my hope would be atleast twice a week in class, coupled with home online studies, several times a week.
I would have to say the perfect teacher would be proficient in reading, writing and speaking. They would have to have lived and or studied there. Possible completed a degree program /or equivalent. A person who is friendly and interactive.

I am trying to learn Italian, so that I can better converse with my in laws. As well as being able to converse on our trips bcak to Italy. I am a total beginner, looking to grasp the essentials of converstional Italian. I am not quite sure the time involvement required to properly grasp a new language.
