I would like to learn cantonese so i can better communicate with my parents in law. I cannot speak or write in cantonese. I would like to attend classes once a week in the evening in the downtown area. I would like the lessons to be geared to my abilites with a focus on speaking and writing second. I am learning Japanese because I am going to Japan this spring. I have a few Japanese friends who have taught me simple words but I am mostly a beginner. I would like to improve in all areas, but mainly conversation and basic reading. I would like to study a lot and am very serious about learning. I am planning on studying daily on my own, and would like a teacher to help guide me. I would like a teacher who is knowlegeable, patient, and someone who makes it fun and easy to learn.

Hey,
I've always told myself I would have to learn Portuguese eventually. I am learning Portuguese to communicate better with my family and a have a stronger sense of my culture.
I can understand most of what is being said in Portuguese and can speak very basic survival Portuguese. Or like a child. :) I have an easier time understanding Continental Portuguese and Brazilian Portuguese.
I need to improve overall. I want to be able to 'think' Portuguese.
I would like 1-2 classes a week.
I am looking for a teacher who can consistently teach me the language. A Native speaker. Somebody with a plan. Confident. You must have taught at least 1 person Portuguese.
