Hello, I really don't how to go about this i was kinda looking for a school,I am dating a russian man and i know that we are going to get married.Altho ugh we have different religious beliefs i'd love to learn his native language..it would be quite helpful in dealing with the family and also teaching our future children someday. I would be a beginner in Lithuanian; however I have had a full year of classroom instruction in Russian. I would be learning the language to be closer to the members of my extended family who still live there and hopefully to visit someday. I would need instruction in all areas (grammar and conversation) but right now I would find it easier to practice the written form. Due to my rigorous school schedule at this time I can dedicate only 4 hours a week to intensive study right now, but I can commit to at least 12 + hours after the first of October 2006. I am mainly seeking to learn Lithuanian as it is spoken (especially in the southern part of the country), not so much the 'textbook' form. I seek a teacher who is laid-back and is willing to teach at my pace depending on how much time I have and how much I can handle at once. My former Russian instructor would become frustrated with me and yell, telling me I hadn't practiced the oral lessons. I did practice but I became nervous around her, and having her yell at me did not help my comfort level with the language.
