Hi Valerie, I am a new member, but I am not a gold member yet. I am American. I am in my 50s. I like to talk about things in general, but not become too personal if you don't mind. I have my masters degree and I enjoy writing. My goal is to become very good at conversational Russian. I would like to become even better at writing Russian. I have Russian immigrants where I live so it would be nice to be able to speak on friendly terms when I meet them. So, learning Russian is mostly for my own edification.
